Former US Secretary of State and CIA Director Mike Pompeo turned memoir writer, a few days ago released a pompously titled autobiography (https://www.amazon.com/Never-Give-Inch-Fighting-America/dp/0063247445) “Never Give an Inch: Fighting for the America I Love”…
The book has been appraised and assessed in different parts of the world. The first delicate comment (https://twitter.com/MevlutCavusoglu/status/1618509204393689091) came from the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu: “Speaking diplomatically, these assertions contain lies, exaggeration, and double standards. A number of pronouncements are not true to fact.”
Some even more interesting details emerge, when Mike Pompeo describes the “Iraqi” episodes of his career. He says that he made generous financial offers to Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in 2017, urging him to renounce cooperation with Tehran. But, as he writes, the prime minister disregarded his overtures.
He would probably get away with it, if not for the Iraqi Foreign Ministry and Haider al-Abadi’s party coalition, Al Nasr, which made an official statement (https://www.rudaw.net/english/middleeast/iraq/30012023) to the effect that the author… was lying. Wait for it, here comes the drums roll🥁. Baghdad declared: Pompeo did not visit Iraq in 2017, nor did he meet with Al-Abadi, while the comments he ascribed to the prime minister were a figment of his imagination.
Some days ago, we marked (https://t.me/MFARussia/14736) the infamous 20th anniversary of Powell’s test tube UN presentation. Now we have learned about the nonexistent talks with the Iraqi leaders.

Pompous Pompeo’s book title is a misprint, it should have said: “We Lie, We Cheat, We Steal”
