This is so good to see: Updates from Syria mainly from Vanessa Beeley’s TG channel:

UAE plane just landed at Damascus with 10T of food, blankets and tents.
Venezuelan plane full of aid is landing tonight with a 20-strong rescue team. They will go first to Lattakia, then to Aleppo. Thank you Venezuelan Ambassador in Damascus.
Hezbollah sends aid convoys to quake-hit Syria, decries US-led sanctions
🔹The Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement says it has sent convoys of humanitarian aid to earthquake-affected areas in Syria in the wake of a devastating earthquake that struck the Arab country amid crippling Western sanctions.
Mexico Sends Beloved Rescue Dogs To Turkey – A team of at least 16 specialist rescue dogs and their masters have left Mexico to assist in the earthquake recovery efforts in Türkiye alongside army and navy representatives, foreign ministry officials, and Red Cross members. The Belgian Malinois, Australian Sheepdogs, and Labradors – which became renowned for their work during Mexico’s 2017 earthquake disaster – will arrive at Adana airport near the quake’s epicenter.

There are major problems with disaster relief into Syria – sanctions related.
Apparently the major and only border crossing between Syria and Turkey is closed. There were some UN issues here but I did not follow it in detail – Syria refuses aid to the rebel held areas and now aid may not go into Syria as the US refuses to talk to the Syrian Government. There was a massive GoFundMe, which was simply closed. International airplanes carrying relief also cannot land because of sanctions. Yet the sanctions meisters cannot let go of their evil. There is a big cry across the world to simply suspend sanctions but that falls on deaf ears. I wonder why they cannot use the Russian airbase?
China quite rightly says that the US has a geopolitical obsession. https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202302/1285066.shtml

We have a second Medvedev .. This Interior Minister of Turkiye is not speaking in words of diplomacy.
Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu issued an angry statement on Friday to US Ambassador to Ankara Jeffry Flake, demanding: “Take your dirty hands of Turkiye.”
According to Haberturk newspaper, Soylu added: “Every US ambassador who arrives in Turkiye is hurrying to find out how to make a coup possible in Turkiye.”
Addressing current US Ambassador Flake, Soylu asserted: “I address the US ambassador from here. I know the journalists you made write articles. Take your dirty hands off Turkiye. I’m being very clear.”
In other accusations to the US ambassador, the Turkish interior minister stated: “I very well know how you would like to create strife in Turkiye. Take your grinning face off from Turkiye.”
“Every US ambassador asks themselves how they can harm Turkiye. It has been one of Turkiye’s greatest misfortunes for years. They gather other ambassadors and try to give them advice. They do the same in Europe as US embassies run Europe,” Soylu noted in response to the US Embassy’s recent warning to its citizens in Turkiye against the danger of terrorist attacks in Istanbul. This came in a statement published by Western countries’ embassies. Some countries issued separate statements but relied on the direct US warning.”
And sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction, because not even a full day later, Turkey and Syria suffer strong earthquakes.

There’s something poetic in the fact that the only US military victory in over 30 years was against a balloon

Today the supposed price cap from the G7 countries on Russian Oil Products such as diesel and fuel comes into effect. Russia has already retaliated and will not export. I wonder what is going to happen with 3rd countries that buy Russian products and re-export? This one is interesting.
Refiners Circumvent Russian Oil Sanctions With Dirhams
Concerned over the future of trading in US Dollars, especially if Russian crude rises above the price cap, Indian Refiners are using UAE’s currency and mostly conducting the trade through Dubai based traders.
The State Bank Of India has even started to clear the Dirham payments, having previously declined to do so.
Financial Institutions have in the past been cautious of clearing payments in fear of accidentally violating the sanctions thus forcing refiners to seek out alternate ways.
What sanctions?
