Daily Chronicles

The Daily Chronicles are snippets of the most important news across the world for this and each day as it rolls in – as such, this thread is non-structured with the latest news on top. Kindly feel free to also use it as an open thread.  Rough theme:  Is it hot enough for you?

Friday, January 27

Lawfare back at you!  This is the same process that was used to capture Pedro Castillo and is now being used by left-leaning politicians to try and get rid of Boluarte who grabbed the presidential vacancy with no elections.  The protests are continuing in Peru, becoming more violent and the number now stands at 60 dead.  They want Castillo, the legally elected president to be released from jail and then they want a constituent assembly to redress grievances and change constitutional issues.  The military is opposing the protestors in full military formation.

Friday, January 27

Alex Cristoforou on Cookies Nuland at the Senate.   I’ve had difficulty finding the complete video, but everyone is posting short snippets.  (She is tone-deaf but she is not stupid).  The start of the video, i.e., ‘I was lying to impress my date’ is the deeper rabbit hole of what I posted on the Project Veritas interview.

Friday, January 27

We have a bunch of spitting angry ugly losers on our hands.  Re the Wagner Group but this is joking:

Wall Street Journal:
Hi there,
I’m seeking comment from the Wagner Group regarding the sanction by the U.S. today that designated the Wagner Group as a transnational criminal group.

Prigozhin:
We have conducted an internal check on the crimes of Wagner PMC but found nothing defamatory. If anyone has information about the crimes committed by PMC Wagner please send it to our press service or publish it in the media so that we could help our American colleagues to form an opinion.

Friday, January 27 – Maria Zakharova goes unplugged!  She is doing her weekly briefing.

Maria Zakharova asked NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg a question.

❗️❗️❗️❗️“Do you really consider the citizens of the EU and NATO countries to be uniform idiots?”

“Do you really think that by sending tanks that must be serviced by people, by forming, among other things, recruiting centers for recruiting both citizens of Ukraine and citizens of other countries on the bases of Ukrainian embassies abroad, you are still not a party to the conflict? And who are you then?” Zakharova said.

Thursday, January 26 . serious question

Everything happening now is a provocation.  The west is hoping Russia will respond and escalate.

But the question is, and I know it has been asked before in some form or another, how is the west going to spin this total loss given that they now are the major stakeholder in an irrelevant, offensive, jerk, imperialist and fast-failing Anglo-Saxon so-called golden million global minority?  It is happening faster than we think.

The ‘global south’ will continue to speak with one voice, and as I go through the 111-point CELAC document, still only in Spanish, https://www.cancilleria.gob.ar/userfiles/prensa/declaracion_de_buenos_aires_-_version_final.pdf it is no less than a document demanding the final exclusion of at least the US.  XJP made a nice short video address which I will post.  I have to use a word – the west and the EU, it is now a circle jerk with Zelensky setting the pace.  Yes, I know it is a visual that one cannot easily forget!

Thursday, January 26

Washington is ready to ease sanctions against Moscow for the sake of serious negotiations on Ukraine and the withdrawal of Russian troops from there, Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said at a briefing.

I kid you not.  Russians will not fall for this false equivalency, ease sanctions for negotiations.  No no .. I really do not think Russia is ready for negotiations and I think carrot and stick is an extreme misjudgment of the circumstances.  Not even Iran fell for this type of bad faith.  And do you really think they will talk to Nuland?

A new comment by Lavrov not necessarily in response to Cookies Nuland – but only to confirm that Russia will not let go of her objectives here:

“We intend to ensure that the objectives of the special military operation are met.” As the president stressed, our absolute priority is the four new regions of the Russian Federation, which must be freed from the threats of Nazification to which they have been subjected for long, long years, and which must ensure the safety of all the people who live there… Another crucial goal of the special military operation is to prevent any threats to our security from being created and maintained on Ukrainian territory”.

(Both of these from Slavyangrad)

Thursday, January 26

A wave of airstrikes in Ukraine last evening.  I usually wait for the RuMod report which we will get in their morning, tomorrow.

Thursday, January 26

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Patrushev believes that the United States and NATO have become parties to the conflict in Ukraine and intend to drag it out.

Thursday, January 26

The big walkback, on that German Foreign Minister saying that ‘We are at war with Russia“.  Apparently The Foreign Minister of Germany did not and has no constitutional power to “declare war.” See Arts 65a and 115 of the Basic Law. gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_gg/en…

Wow, I’m so glad to hear that.  If she had the constitutional power, perhaps they would be at war with Russia lol.

Wednesday, January 25

Discussions about red lines are a thing of the past, the United States has unequivocally declared its desire to inflict a strategic defeat on the Russian Federation, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.  (More about this in an article later)

Wednesday, January 25

Germany agreed to send “Leopards” to Kyiv

The wind of political pressure from the United States and its European satellites blew away  German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. According to Der Spiegel (https://www.spiegel.de/politik/deutschland/krieg-in-der-ukraine-deutschland-schickt-leopard-panzer-a-e2dde871-88d0-4cf5-8aae-482d58fd850f), liver sausage Scholz agreed to supply Ukraine with around 10 to 14 German Leopard 2 tanks after active persuasion (read threats) by Western politicians and the other stinky yappy lapdogs.   For example, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland, Arkadiusz Mularczyk, predicted Germany’s international isolation if it refuses to present its combat vehicles to Kyiv.

https://t.me/soroka_belaya_en/441

Can you even imagine that – German tanks against Russia?  The Russian message is that there are no more red lines. It is not a question of a few token tanks that is at issue here, it is the principle and, it is this photo:

From the Russian embassy in Berlin:;  Germany has abandoned its historic responsibility to the people of Russia by delivering tanks to Kiev.  The decision calls into question the possibility of normalizing bilateral relations in the foreseeable future, the diplomatic mission added.

Russia’s Ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, has said that M1 Abrams tanks and other NATO weapons will be destroyed should they be shipped to Ukraine.  He added that if the US did supply these weapons to Kiev, it would be a blatant provocation against Moscow.  “No one should have any illusions who is the real aggressor in the current conflict,” Antonov said in a statement released by the Russian Embassy in Washington’s press service.

Dmitry Peskov :  there are no prospects for entering diplomatic ways of resolving the situation around Ukraine now.  US-made Abrams tanks burn like the rest, only they are more expensive (but Abrams tanks from the US will arrive only in a year).

Wednesday, January 25

In the mean time:  Russia’s cutting-edge frigate Admiral Gorshkov, currently on a long journey, will take part in joint drills with China’s People’s Liberation Army and the South African Navy, the top brass told reporters:  https://twitter.com/tassagency_en/status/1618159523142803458?t=yBhLjnCIxBC704_W_bZgrQ&s=19

“Admiral Gorshkov is currently operating in the western part of the Atlantic Ocean and conducted simulated launches of the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile ”

Wednesday, January 25

General Valery Gerasimov
has said that Moscow intends to set up new military districts and put together fresh units to counter the most pressing security threats it faces, including hybrid war in Ukraine, as well as Finland and Sweden potentially joining NATO.  According to Gerasimov, the Russian military’s response to those challenges will, among other things, include the creation of the Moscow and Leningrad military districts and the formation of three motorized rifle divisions in Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.  Gerasimov also pointed out that the Russian military hasn’t seen hostilities of such scale and intensity in the country’s modern history and that Moscow is “opposed by almost the entire collective West.”

Wednesday, January 25

The rats are running wild.  “If McCarthy visits Taiwan this spring, then a new Taiwan Straits crisis will be inevitable.” – Hu Xijin (https://twitter.com/huxijin_gt/status/1617916956681863168?), Global Times commentator

Wednesday, January 25

Turkey may leave NATO in five to six months due to provocative actions against Ankara says Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Motherland Party, Ethem Sanjak.

Wednesday, January 25

The terminology SMO is leaving the public space.  More and more we see the Russians talk about hybrid war.   More about that in an article currently stil in draft on Lavrov’s visit to Africa.

Is this now a formal declaration of war? I thought NATO is not fighting a war against Russia Haha… Did this little lady just publically and finally reveal the true plot?

Maria answered immediately: “Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said that Europe has plotted ongoing war against Moscow. Her comment is about the admission from Germany’s top diplomat Annalena Baerbock, who said the EU was “fighting a war against Russia.”

Zakharova also recalls former German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s claims that the Minsk treaty of 2014 for war-torn Ukraine was used as a pretext to militarize Kiev.

A beautiful, heart-warming scene yesterday.. South Africa accounts itself with proper élan on behalf of the Global South.. These are traditional wedding celebrations! (the delighted “groom” Lavrov even took time to bang on a drum and see Pushkin’s memorial)

Thank you, AHH, for your analysis. Already, our African neighbors were getting tired of neo-colonialism. Moreover, they were intelligent enough not to go for the vaxins (one ring to rule them all).
