We started with Brazil .. a discussion
Our commentator SoUtH started a discussion that soon became broader than what the space allowed us. So, we are opening the discussion here.
SoUtH made a comment that could be provocative, but it is not. Change My Mind! We are not in that business but we are in the business of in-depth discussion, so to the best of my ability, I copy the discussion here, and we take it from there. I’m looking forward to this.
We are international and so we need to be gentle with one another as civilizationally, we are different. But let the rants roll, just make sure that we can all understand one another.
Here is where it started with a comment to AHH
Ahh, I have been waiting for an opportunity to respond to your last comment to me of some time ago. I was unable to reply immediately and then the posts got archived, making it improbable that you would see my reply if published there. I am now thinking about never posting again; so I did not want to disappear without thanking you for your two replies to me and offering a terse comment.
On the first occasion, I had asked you for a link to your/Putin’s comment that there will be a change in elites. I read the paragraph and found it to be essentially opaque. What is the referent of the term ‘the elites’? What kind of change is envisioned? The speech was silent as to this information. Charlie and his red shields are the only ones who matter, as they control santa klaus and organizations like WHO. So, I was unable to find any evidentiary basis for the hopium that i often see interlaced in your posts. Things are really bad, Ahh. They winning.
On the second occasion, I had chastised the countries abstaining in the UN vote to punish RU with war reparations. This vote was, of course, to provide fake cover for the appropriating of already-seized RU assets. I pointed out that if the abstainers and no shows had stood on the platform of integrity, their number would have surpassed the number of the Usuks vote and the resolution would not have passed. Your response was to let them have a fig leaf or two because they see the bleed-out and the (alleged) fact that it is only a matter of time until the Usuks go down.
My problem with that is at least twofold. First, it is an assault on logic, language, reasoning, and epistemology. This machinery of communication cannot function on slippery sands. Words must have a communicable meaning. Utterances must stand for facts. A vote must be backed by behavior. Second, the appearance right now is that the Usuks ain’t goin down. They winning.
At the recent G20, all said nations and notably Brazil: (1) signed on to an international wexxine passport, and (2) to health care control by Who. This entails: (1a) that should something really bad start happening in ones own country, one will not be able to escape; and (2a) that if your wexxacanations are not up to date with the correct number of boosters, then you ain’t leaving without your designated poison baggage; but also (2b) that since Who is controlling ones health care, one has no recourse to appellate remedy via ones country’s own judicial system.
Prior to our recent exchange, i published a post here on this blog regarding the fact that Boston U had just published results of a gain of function research project funded by Fauxci & Gates. Using humanized mice, they were able to create a bioweapon werrus with exceptionally high contagion and 80% lethality. I posted links to 5 sources. In the days following, not one person here responded to this news. They were all concerned with coming up with plausible hopium to assuage the pain of the Kherson withdrawal. My post soon got relegated to the archives, likely never to be unearthed by future visitors to this site.
Here in US, some say: We not afraid. We locked and loaded (doors locked, guns loaded). Hello? Read the tea leaves: They got a fn fluid with 80% lethality that they can distribute over the population with crop duster airplane or the ones that are already on chemtrail duty.
Think you are safe in another country? Think again — and especially if you live in an area they want (like all of LatinAmer, the horn of Africa, Yemen, Palestine/Syria, TW, etc).
I will close with thoughts about the Brazil election. In my initial post here, I cited quotes from Bidn&Blinkey praising the Lula win and the poll tally. Everyone here was so happy for the Lula win but not me. Smelled like a fix to me. I then came across a documents issued prior to May 2022. One spoke of Balsonaro’s refusal to relinquish control of Brazil health care to the Who and his vehement objection to mandatory fluids (he knows that they are death shots). Another concerned threats made by santa klaus to Balso re same topic. Balso then gets ousted. Brazil is one of the signatories (read Lula) to the G20 wexxine passport agreement. Read the tea leaves here. If Brazil is now “owned” by the Usuk boys, the BRICS alliance will now have a member who can act as a fifth column against the new global south alliances.
Things are really bad, Ahh. Really hopeless.”
…
So, are things really bad .. Really hopeless?
…
Some further discussion developed and SoUtH summarized well:
Let me clarify the expression, ‘change my mind’ because it has a different meaning against my educational background. And you are actually bringing up an important point about the genesis and anatomy of belief.
So, let’s ask: How does an intellectually responsible person arrive at their set of beliefs about the world?
Training starts as a child. The child, in trying to make sense of their world, asks why they have to eat their broccoli or why they can’t go out to play, etc. Mother can respond either with facts and arguments or with say-so (with “because it has nutrients that your body needs for growth” or with “because I say-so and I am your mother; i.e., the authority here). In either case, the child will learn accordingly. He will learn either to ground his beliefs and behavior in facts and reasons or he will learn to acquiesce to authority. The purpose of education is to illuminate the difference between the two with hope to induce motivation to the former option; viz., to develop the child’s innate ratiocinative abilities so that he will be able to think for himself about aspects of his life and in new situations and be able to come to good decisions from which instances of behavior would emanate.
Suppose that a busy mother regularly gives her child candy for breakfast. She is busy, not enough time even to offer cereal, the calories in the candy assuage hunger pangs, the child is timely on the school bus. Breakfast matter over. Suppose the child learns in school that said routine is not a healthy one and one day asks Mother why she gives him a candy breakfast. Mother gives her reasons. Child comes back to Teacher with these reasons. Child comes to realize that the reasons on which he has been operating are not good ones. Teacher has changed his mind.
Against this background, reconsider your statement: “…say if I can change your mind, would that NOT mean I can control you life (thus future) and make you think what I want you to think?”
The answer would be no on assumption that one has learned to base their thinking (and hence their future behavior) on sound facts and valid principles of reasoning. It is only if one acquiesces to sheer say-so as their guiding principle that “one would be able to make you think what I want you to think.”
In US, people believed what the gov’t told them based only in part on say-so. Fundamental to their acquiescent behavior were the assumptions: (1) that gov is a good agent; (2) that gov is charged with the duty to protect their population; (3) that gov has access to critical information not yet available to the educated in this field; and so on. Note that these are the same facts or premises that propelled the child to believe that candy breakfasts are correct. Just as when the child brought Mother’s reasons to Teacher and was caused to have his mind changed, members of the medical and scientific communities changed their mind about gov’s directives after examining the facts. Most striking here is Robert Malone’s acquiescence to governmental authority. Such a level of fear has been instilled in him that he took 2shots. Malone is a licensed virologist who had some important role in developing the mRNA technology. As did many people, he trusted his gov. But after he did his own research, his mind got changed — not as a result of some other authrity but as a result of facts and arguments (reasons). Reasons are arguments which, together with sound facts, give basis for a particular behavior.
When I said to Amaranth, “change my mind,” she prudently responded, “Let’s open a topic on this issue alone so that the matter can be discussed.” She understood that people arrive at beliefs and conclusions based on facts and arguments. So, by opening a topic, she was inviting her commenters and readers to set forth their intellectual goods. Now, like the child bringing Mother’s candy arguments to Teacher, we, as reasoning adults, can evaluate the soundness of our beliefs and the validity of our reasoning. In so doing, some will be caused thereby to have their beliefs changed.
I took a position on a matter and then said, change my mind. The meaning of this statement is: Here are my reasons for believing such and such. But I have an open mind because truth is my lodestar, my guiding principle for beliefs and behavior. So if you have facts not currently available to me for consideration, I am, like was Malone, open to changing my mind. To say “change my mind” is tantamount to saying: show me your criteriological goods, the criteria on which you hold a position opposite to mine.
Now let’s turn to another quote, you said: “… the globalist mind trap… would have you believe [that] you have no way out as they are all powerful… is it NOT?” To this I would note that the power (or certain powers) wielded by certain govs together with other premises can be a valid reason for belief. The devil here, as always, is in the details.”
…
The conversation took a turn and QC? came with some Eastern philosophy:
Hi mate 😉 you are NOT wrong but are you right?!
you are coming from a post-modernism materialistic thinking pattern, which is very typically white western education (which I argue and I am sure this one you agree too – has been corrupted)
but let me point out another difference btwn the east and west – that is our god or gods, thus by extension our religious belief thus our theology, it is this –
the west are told to wait for or beg for god’s grace and if you are accepted then you will be ‘free’, and even though the doctrine always advertised as ‘god loves everyone’ when one complete a theological degree or ask deeper questions, obviously god dont accepts everyone, and the church filters the ‘sinners’ out… and on
the east however, according to the doctrine of Karma, are told to work their butt off and sow seed of goodness, kindness the lot and they are told their life misery are due to past karma and they can do works to minimize the effect of the bad fruits but sometimes, they gotta take the load up and pay the full price, that is if they killed someone in the past, this time its their turn to be killed, however bloody and scary it is… and note its does not have to be in human form, that is if one kill somebody in the past, in this reincarnation, one maybe revenged by reincarnating as a fish or pig and be slaughtered and be eaten by those who are to avenge for the past murder. So, to make it clearer, they say, the food you eat if its animal, its your past enemy. Thus the doctrine advice you to eat vegetarian, thus you forgive your enemy’s sin and at the same time, you cut of that blood debt cycle going into another future reincarnation accounting episode.
so friend, again, here, if you are suffering, yes, the mind (which really I argue its not the Behavioural THINKING PATTERN you alluded to but hey what the hell – its just ranting here) you have to assess yourself how much control you have over your mind?! thus responsibility… thus future… thus, really, meaning of life (or rather physical ‘human’ existence while is lasted in a bodily form on earth)
anyway, friend 🙂 wkend are precious for sleeping…. so gotta reach for that kill switch now
hope all is well for you, family, body, mind, and soul 🙂
be well be safe”
…
I thought this was a very healthy discussion and interesting. But, we started with Brazil. So, I suggest we say what we want to say about Brazil and develop this into a long conversation about the meaning of 42 (I’m joking a bit, but we all may know that 42 is the meaning of Life, the Universe and Everything, according to a computer in the novel the Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Douglas Adams)
I’ll add my comment about Brazil in the comment section. This is just an opener for a longer discussion of which I’ll be a discussion partner only, and not a discussion moderator. If I missed something really important from the original discussion .. kindly add it.
It could be wise to remember how little we know.
dear amarynth SoUtH and all 🙂 sharp one amarynth 😛 okie confession time 🙂 In Chinese/asian culture, we learn when you are stuck in the corner is a very good idea to take a few steps back and see the wider angle… … hence I ‘hijacked’ the topic and took… Read more »
What a healthy discussion – very informative, good natured discussion/dialog … So nice to see.
We have to start. We have defined a civilizational difference in thinking, in rhetorical device. And I don’t think we need to count gods. In my view, that stuff is faith-based and it is all OK, and all of us are gifted with different levels of faith. So, back to… Read more »

Bad Bolso news just keep on coming ..

Amarynth, are you able to confirm two statements as fact: (1) that Balsonaro actually attended the G20 in Bali in person; (2) that he actually signed onto the G20 agreement that came out of that recent meeting. I am unable to confirm other than the fact that Brazil was represented… Read more »
I can confirm that Bolsonaro did not attend the G20. https://brazilian.report/liveblog/2022/11/11/bolsonaro-last-g20-meeting-indonesia/ The statement was joint, and I did not see any press saying that some did not sign it. 1) Right, let me get on with responding to SoUtH as it seems like the posts are coming through clear and without troubles at the moment. General: We cannot conflate the WHO and the G20. They are different organizations. Whether Bolso was there or not, makes no difference, because the… Read more »
