Daily Chronicles
The Daily Chronicles are snippets of the most important news across the world for this and each day as it rolls in. Kindly also use it as an open thread.
Comment 3 – Today, 29th November seems a quiet day so far.
Comment 2 – Generally today, 28 November seems a quiet day. The Chinese riots were taken to a separate thread. https://thesakeris.global/2022/11/28/schrodingers-protests-in-china/
Comment 1 – I refreshed this Chronicle every two or three days, but our world is busy today. Take a quick look at the previous one as many items here describes longer processes and the basic information is on the previous Chronicle. https://thesakeris.global/2022/11/23/daily-chronicles-22/
The playbook does not change: NATO to reinforce presence from Black to Baltic Sea — US secretary of state
https://tass.com/world/1543299
The provocations in the South China Seas are not enough seemingly. Now they want to meddle between Russia and Turkey. These folks may just get themselves shot right out of the water and the skies.
The US guided-missile cruiser Chancellorsville intruded into waters near the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea without any Chinese permission, spokesman for the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command Tian Junli said:
The Ministry of Defense of China noted that the actions of the US Navy violated the sovereignty and security of China. PLA forces organized activities to alert and escort the cruiser. The American ship eventually left the waters off the Nansha Islands.
“This is further irrefutable evidence of the US desire for navigational hegemony and militarization of the South China Sea,” the Chinese Defense Ministry said in a statement.
US Navy refutes China’s claim that cruiser Chancellorsville violated territorial waters. According to the official account of the 7th Fleet, the ship passed in accordance with international law.
(So why did they leave when the Chinese told them to leave if they were not in violation)
I canceled my day and went to check probably 50+ Chinese commentators. Nobody is worried, and truly, nobody is talking about ‘major protests’. It is however all over the western press, in more or less this form: “Finally The people of China had enough! Massive uprising in different regions! Let’s see for how long more they can keep the massive 99% majority in Submission. The Great Awakening” and other comments saying the ‘massive uprising’ shouts for Xi Jinping to step down. Well, this is not how it works in China. This is nonsense. Read the Brian Berletic comments again. Some students are out shouting. The focus is the sheer jealousy of the west in that the China 0 Covid policy worked. You may agree with it, and you may not. But, it worked. And we’ve had enough coverage here to explain the Chinese view on Covid.
PR stunts! We will see in the next week. In the meantime: “Taiwan’s Ruling Party Suffers Election Defeat
Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen has assumed all “responsibility” and stepped down as the head of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) following a series of election defeats to the opposition candidates, who focused their campaign on local issues and maintaining peace without being overly confrontational with Beijing.
On Saturday, the residents of Taiwan went to the polls to pick mayors in nine cities, as well as city council members and other local leaders all across the island. In a major defeat to the ruling party, the opposition Kuomintang (KMT) won key mayoral races in the capital city of Taipei, Taoyuan and Keelung, in addition to a string of other victories, leaving the DPP in control of only five out of the 21 local government offices, according to preliminary results.
“The results failed our expectations. We humbly accept the results and accept the Taiwanese people’s decision,” Tsai told reporters.”
The west has just lost its maneuvering space in Taiwan.
This is probably one of the most important issues in our world today. The anti-China campaign has kicked up into top gear. So high, that I wrote to most of my correspondents and asked if they were aware. So, for only perhaps the 2nd time in my life, I sent out about 20 emails this morning, to sites, to people that I know that study China and to interested parties to make sure the awareness is there.
So Brian Berletic with his excellent research came up with a list. Here it is:
Brian Berletic’s Newatlas Channel, [11/27/22 5:54 AM]
🇨🇳🇺🇸 Protests in China Organized by US-backed “journalists” Using Telegram GroupsTelegram groups set up by Chinese-based associates of Radio Free Asia, Epoch Times, the NYT, CNN, and others are organizing “protests” which are essentially PR stunts meant to trigger much wider unrest.
This comes at a time just as the US-backed Democratic Progress Party lost in elections in Taiwan.
Besides the Taiwan elections, the Republicans have taken over the house in US America. The anti-China plans have been kicked up a number of notches.
A second issue on this topic is that China just kicked open an organization that most of us would classify as Mr. Global. They invited journalists to the ultra-secret Tri-Lateral Commission meeting. Arnaud Bertrand has the available details here, as I have not had time to go and look for the documents. The hegemon is spitting fire!

From RT and widely discussed:

Europe accuses US of profiting from war. (What do you think, is somebody getting it? Has the penny dropped?)
“People want to end the [Ukraine] war because they cannot bear the consequences” EU’s @JosepBorrellF said in Sept. “This mentality must be overcome.” (https://t.co/ssM9l6flLD)

We have a Brazil conference with Pepe, 7th December – Brazil and the multipolar world in 2023 –
https://www.eventbrite.com.br/e/o-brasil-e-o-mundo-multipolar-em-2023-tickets-474272270127
I’ll stay on it and get us the video if I can – geez, translation???.
Covid is still a problem. Here are four examples.
Prensa-Latina reports that Brazil is back under a mask mandate in public places. (This is Bolsonaro management still. Lula takes over in January)
Interfax.ru reports that in Russia, more than six thousand people fell ill with COVID-19 during the day
We all probably know about major outbreaks in China with numbers that I have not seen since the early days.
Italy reports a sharp increase in Covid cases.
Lots of talk in among my crypto circles about an apparent plea for ‘amnesty’ or ‘forgiveness’ for the ‘covid regime’. The discussion is whether they deserve amnesty? What does repentance look like for them? What is the right response to the evil that they promoted? Interesting discussions.
And one last comment on Covid – everyone is making excuses and in some cases openly lying about their influence, but some are truly honest I think. Take a look at this researcher (and also note that she just quit):
Chief WHO scientist reveals key Covid blunder
They are just like Israel, who turn up for the photo opportunity, but never actually ratify whatever it is that they agreed to. This is what the US is doing to the supposed ‘joint declaration’ reached at the ASEAN summit. Non-agreement capable is the correct descriptor for sure, and also deeply dishonest Ferengi!
According to the principle of consensus, the joint declaration was also agreed by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. However, shortly after the adoption of the joint declaration, the Pentagon issued a readout. Although it reaffirms “the United States’ commitment to working with ASEAN,” almost the whole text emphasizes how to deal with “provocations and unsafe operational behavior, especially in the South China Sea.” This is obviously putting “cooperation” under the general framework of “confrontation” and trying to turn “cooperation” into a tool for camp confrontation. It has a strong Cold War hue and is full of Washington’s impulse to dominate regional affairs and attempt to marginalize the role of ASEAN.
Why does Washington want to play such a trick of “dual declaration?” This is because Washington knows that provoking is not welcomed in the collective discussion, and that it will only incite more vigilance and even resentment, which is not conducive to US’ strategy of roping in Southeast Asian countries. Therefore, Washington had to settle for the second best, which is to act “soft” in front of others and “turn hostile” behind them. This also shows that the US is reluctant to agree to the joint declaration of the ADMM-Plus, and Austin failed to foist Washington’s own needs into it.

Night in the Ukraine
Internet activity
The issue of the oil price cap.
The European Union cannot get it done. There is internal disagreement and many inconsistencies. From the Kremlin this morning:
EU’s Proposed Oil Price Cap is ‘For Show’ — Kremlin
Key points from Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov’s daily briefing:
▪️The Kremlin sees “inexplicable figures” proposed in the EU as the price ceiling for Russian oil, as if the policy is being discussed just “for show”
▪️The Russian Federation will not supply oil and gas to countries that would implement the price ceiling mechanism, per instructions by the president
▪️Russia did not attack social facilities in Ukraine, the Kremlin claimed
▪️The Ukrainian leadership has ample opportunity to resolve the conflict if it fulfils Russian demands in order end the suffering of its population
There is an update: It’s official, President Putin issued instructions not to export oil and gas to countries that put a ceiling on prices – Kremlin’s Spokesman Dmitriy Peskov
The Russian MoD explains the massive attacks on the Ukraine:
💥On 23 November, Russian Armed Forces launched a massive attack using high-precision long-range air- and ground-based weaponry, at the military control system of Ukraine and energy facilities related to it. The goal of the attack has been reached. All the assigned targets have been neutralised. The strike has disrupted the transfer by rail of the AFU reserves, foreign weapons, military equipment and munition to the areas of combat operations.
❗️Not a single strike was carried out against targets within the city limits of Kiev. All the destruction declared by the Kiev regime in the city was the result of foreign and Ukrainian air defense missiles falling in residential areas of the Ukrainian capital.
https://t.me/mod_russia_en/5128
The collective west is slowly getting the message that Russia is serious, and cannot be ignored. Refer to the three proposals that Russia made to NATO and the US at the end of last year for regional security, that were ignored. That is when Russia announced a military-technical solution, and soon after in February the SMO started. The military-technical nomenclature had many of us, myself as well, kinda dumbfounded. We now see the meaning. Russia is making a limited war, not killing civilians (also see the Nebenzia statement posted this morning), but ripping the guts out of the country 404. And it is now truly 404. Is ‘the Ukraine’ as an entity still there this morning?
Personally, I am still ‘noodling’ on my statement from yesterday: There is an issue though for discussion and this is how Russia is pacing the Ukrainian conflict in relation to the move to multi-polarity and I am convinced there is a timing here that we don’t see.
From China, we get this statement from their Chief of Defense:
China of course has the full Russian process to learn from and they could step over some of the pitfalls that Russia had to deal with.
I have an impression and this is over the past day, that we, the real world, have stepped across a Rubicon and it may even be a spiritual Rubicon and that certain issues are resolving. Put seatbelts on. The changes are going to be rolling out fast!
